Those of us who were at Greatworth will not forget the QSYs coming over the teleprinter from Stanbridge. Well now Stanbridge is closing.

Are there any RAF stations left I wonder? I think every one that I ever served on has gone.

Worked in Circuit Control Section (CCS) at Stanbridge in 1956, as a J/T. Put many a QSY through to Greatworth and Edlesborough. Good old days!

One by one, we grow fewer. I hope someone starts a website for RAF Stanbridge, to keep it's memory alive. I remember the harsh clatter of our teleprinter, shattering the quiet at an early hour with a "QSY CAF 23 11.265 KK". Yes, good old days indeed.

I was at Stanbridge for only a veryshort while end Sept 1959 (can't remember how long), before I was sent off to Greatworth, so I don't remember asking for many QSYs. Instead I carried them out at G/W. As I had spent my 2 years in Aden on Transmitters, I think I was more 'at home' at Greatworth where the TXs were even bigger than those in Aden.
